The leadership and the proud benefits of the inland waterway industry in the European Union is vitally related to its advanced management policies and legal regime.The thesis aims at studying the European Union's laws and policies on inland waterway shipping market management,thus,drawing up lessons and enlightenings to our country to improve our inland waterway shipping market management legal regimes and stimulate the development of our inland waterway shipping industry. This thesis includes three chapters.In Chapter 1,the author briefly introduces the existing development of inland waterway industry in the European Union and its main inland waterway shipping member States—Germany and Holland,and also their related inland waterway market management subjects and legal policies and legal regimes.In chapter 2,the author concretely introduces every single policy and related regulations and directives.It was discussed from access to the inland waterway market,development and culturization and supervision of the inland waterway market.
