The Research Of The Location Of Government's Role In Group Conflicts During Chinese Social Transition

During Chinese social transition, the way of social resource's distribution and the pattern of interests have had great changes. For the limited social resources and the intense situation of pursuing interests, people who have different abilities and opportunities in the distribution of interests separate. The differences between people or groups who have different interests have surpassed the standard of social justice and the public's bearing capacity to some extent. Conflicts break out. While conflicts intensify day by day, the social distribution of interests is not balanced. The social defence and control mechanism is not perfect. The channel of social expresses for interests is not expedited either. Group conflicts arise at the historic moment and present their own characteristics.It is not mean that all of group conflicts are pungent and opposite. The government plays an important role in the whole process of group conflicts as the manager and server of social affair in anticipation. It has a strong relationship with group conflicts , for being a direct party concerned during the group conflicts or a referee coordinating the relations and conflicts of interests .Although the general ability and efficiency of government are improved, there are also some deviation and dislocation in the government's role in reality because of many factors, which intensify the degree of group conflicts. Therefore, the government's role needs to be rectified to avoid the occurrence or expansion of group conflicts. In this thesis we have a research on the relationship between the location of government's role and group conflicts, utilizing the theory of collective behavior and social role mainly. With the characteristics of group conflicts during Chinese social transition, we study the various styles of dislocation in the government's role which surpasses the social anticipation and analyse the reasons. Then we discuss how to rectify the government's role ultimately.
