The Further Resarch On Historical Place Of The League Of Nations

The development history of human society is an endlessly progressive course of history. It Inherits the past and directs the future from clan tribes to countries, from countries to international organizations that are at the high level nowdays. The LN, the first universal and comprehensive international organize an international community. In the human history . Although it failed at last because of the defects of its regime and the manipulation by western great powers , it had made great efforts to the safeguard of world peace and security, the promotion of international cooperation and the protection of human rights during its 26 years existence.This paper inquires into the question of historical place of the LN by analyzing its contribution to certain fields. It consists of three parts: the first part gives general introduction to the efforts made by the LN to safeguard world peace and security. These efforts includes arbitration of international dispute, mediation of conflicts between China and Japan, and disarmament of world powers; the second part focuses on the contributions of the LN to improve international cooperation and protection of human rights, which includes the following aspects: economic development, scientific, educational, cultural and sanitary undertakings, and human rights protection; the third part displays the contribution of the LN by investigating the innovation it brought to international organizations and its influence on the UN.
