Comments On The Early Ideological And Political Education Of The Chinese Communist Party (1949-1957)

This paper consists of three parts, namely, the historical background, main contents, and assessment and analysis of the party's ideological and political education work during China's early founding years, etc.The first part of this paper mainly elaborates and makes an analysis of the serious tests brought about by the intense domestic and international class struggle, by the challenge of building a New China and the requirement to further strengthen the ideological and political education. The second part of the paper mainly develops from the following angles: the party's internal ideological and political education, the ideological and political education during the Korean War, the ideological and political education of intellectuals, as well as the ideological and political education during the socialist transformation. The third part of this paper makes a necessary assessment of the party's ideological and political education during the early founding years, makes an analysis of the significance of that period's ideological and political education. This part continues to summarize the basic experience of the party's ideological and political education during these years---emphasizing theory-oriented education, and strengthening self-construction of the ruling party, adhering to proper rules and methods in the ideological and political education, and keeping the ideological and political education closely revolving around and serving the focus of the Party and the government. The paper concludes by clarifying the revelations the party's ideological and political education in the early founding years offered us: attaching great importance to the fine tradition of ideological and political education, adhering to and consolidating the guiding position of Marxism, strengthening education in ideals and beliefs, and so on.
