| Happiness is the timeless themes of human life. the pursuit of happiness is humankind's natural right, and a powerful drive for social development. As the positive psychology taken off in the 20th century, happiness researches made flourish all over the world like mushrooms. Domestic research on happiness started later. But it also made some achievement. However, in this field most research focused on college students, urban residents, old people, but the soldiers as a special group were made less relevant research, and their happiness research most involved in the retired army cadres, grassroots cadres and non-commissioned officers. Nevertheless, as the most important components of the combat effectiveness, the soldiers were studied less, so we made the soldiers as current research objects to explore the characteristics of their happiness and its relationship with social support.In addition, domestic research on the need to belong focused on the theoretical discussion in the past, foreign study had been more systematic and empirical. This study introduced the quantitative research of the need to belong, preliminarily explored the effects of the need to belong on the happiness and whether it is influenced by the social support.To sum up, we conducted a questionnaire survey on the need to belong, social support and happiness of 302 soldiers and 361 college students. On this basis, we made local college students as general samples, and analyzed the factors of affecting their happiness, then research the uniqueness of the factors of affecting the soldiers'happiness, and explore the relationship between the need to belong of the soldiers, social support and happiness. The conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the need to belong of soldiers and social support are not significantly related, but in students groups they show significantly positive correlation.Secondly, the need to belong and happiness total scores and psychological well-being significantly positive correlation and subjective well-being not significant.Thirdly, social support on happiness have a significant role in prediction; In the srudents groups the need to belong play a partly intermediary role in the predicting process of social support on subjective well-being and psychological well-being.Fourthly, comparing the soldiers with local college students, there are some differences on the need to belong, social support and happiness. Finally, on the basis of these conclusions about the characteristics of the need to belong, social support and happiness of the soldiers, we made some suggestions on the education of the sense of happiness of soldiers and on improving the combat effectiveness and cohesion of the forces. |
