A Study On The Construction Of Chinese Farmers' Morality Under The Circumstance Of New Socialist Countryside

The fifth plenary conference of Sixteenth Central Committee of the CPC witnessed the proposal of constructing new socialist villages, in which the objectives of construction are specified: well-developed productivity, well-off living standards, civilized rural atmosphere, tidy and clean villages and democratic management. Among all the construction objectives, the aim of cultivating civilized rural atmosphere, which involves the farmers' ideological and moral construction, is not only one of the objective requirements but also the essential part for the construction of new socialist villages. Therefore it is of great significance to strengthen and promote the farmers'moral construction so that it can facilitate the construction of new socialist villages. Accordingly this thesis is centered on this subject and focuses on the following four issues:First, to explore the requirements and objectives for the construction of farmers' morality under the circumstance of building new socialist villages.Secondly, to summarize and analyze the achievements and potential problems of the construction of farmers' morality at the present stage by means of carrying out investigation and research.Thirdly, to analyze the reasons associated with the problems emerging in the present construction of farmers' morality. The reasons are as follows: the influence of Chinese feudal culture; the negative influence of the transformation of economy and society; failure in the construction of farmers' morality; inadequate importance attached to the construction of farmers morality.Fourthly, under the guidance of scientific outlook on development, to explore the corresponding strategies and approaches to tackling the problems emerging in the process of the construction of farmers'morality so as to improve the morality construction.
