This thesis takes the Institute Cargo Clauses (ICC) 1982, the lately amended ICC 2009 and Chinese Marine Insurance Clauses of Cargo as the comparison subjects. By the comparative, enumerative and other analytical methods, the author, through three chapters, analyses the revised points of ICC 2009, and accordingly gives further suggestions on improving our relevant clauses. The aim is not only understanding the ICC 2009 and 1982 deeply, but also providing reference on improvement of our corresponding clauses drew up by People's Insurance Company of China (PICC)The first chapter briefly introduces the background and present situation of ICC 2009 revision. Firstly, the thesis gives a brief introduction about the old S.G. Policy, the ICC 1963 and 1982 before the ICC 2009 revision. Then it provides presentation on the ICC 2009. Overall, this part is the foundation of later subsequent exposition. The second chapter, which discusses the revised parts of the ICC 2009, is the main part of the whole thesis. It only takes the major changes, such as the Exclusion Clauses (includes insufficiency or unsuitability of packing or preparation, insolvency or financial default, unseaworthiness of vessel and unfitness of container), Transit Clause, and Change of Voyage Clause, into comparative analysis. The third chapter takes Institute Cargo Clauses and our Ocean Marine Cargo Clauses into comparison, and gives further suggestions on improving our relevant clauses drafted by PICC in 1981. The main part of this chapter compares the ICC 2009 with our Ocean Marine Cargo Clauses from two aspects-major change and no change, and then points out the ICC 2009 influence on our relevant clauses as well as the suggestions on our clauses'improvement.
