The Study On The Faith Of Wu Yuanlong And The Life Of Villages

This article is about the case study on the folk beliefs and the life of villages. The specific study object is Wu yuanlong that was villagers'faith in Jiangtou. Jiangtou is located in Wenqiao town,Quanzhou county.In the village,Wu yuanlong is regarded as the before three-generation ancestor and"the god of rain". In the situation,I regard the interaction between the faith culture and the the village life as the entry point,through the process of specific performance of the rain god belief and ancestor worship in village life.Investigate the cultural significance and changes in Wu yuanlong belief's combination between subject and object.situation and the changes,analyze the underlying causes of change and the transmission power,explore the factors for Wu yuanlong belief's existance in the land and future trend in the modern times .In the method, the main study ways are literature researching and field works. In addition, it draws on anthropology,sociology,history,psychology and many researching methods of other subjects.This article mainly covers three aspects:1,introduce the social and cultural environment that Wu yuanlong belief was produced. 2,Depict Wu yuanlong's double godhead-ancestor and rain god's cultural meaning,spatial layout, cultural changes and practical function.3,Under the modern context,expore the existence basis of Wu yuanlong faith,the causes that make the belief passing down,and the future trend.The part is in contrast the whole folk faith. And think about the futural trend of folk faith in the village,under the modern context.Based on such considerations,the paper is divided into four sections of six small parts:The first part is the introduction.It explains the reasons of the paper topic,reviews the academic history of relevant research ,introduces the researching methods and the detailed field works.The second part is the first chapter of the paper that mainly introduce the environment of Jiangtou village including natural scenery,geographic location,social economic,history,culture and so on.The third part including two,three,four chapters,depicts Wu yuanlong's double godhead-ancestor and the rain god's symbols,the spatial layout of ancestral halls and Mountain Zeng temple,sacrificial ritual,and the situation of changes under the modern context.Through these aspects, define and support the effection and significance of ancestor worship and rain god belief.The last part is the conclusion and reflection.Refering with the introduction,conclude that three causes ,which are the spiritual needs of villagers,Wu yuanlong double-godhead,local speech and local power effort,still keep the faith in power.Appendix of this paper is the secondary material and some pictures from field work.
