In the initial stages of Eastern Europe Dramatic Changes, left-wing forces in Eastern Europe were in a "political doldrums". After 1992, left-wing forces which took the original Communist Party as the core reinstated and grown gradually and returned to the political arena. In the new political environment, left-wing coalition government became the unanimous choice of left-wing parties. In the two decades of political system change, the generation, development and evolution of left-wing coalition government in Eastern European are connected with the characteristics of the political changes of Eastern European parties, the development of left-wing parties, and the need to contend with right-wing forces. Taking the evolution of left-wing coalition government in Eastern Europe as the main line, this paper deeply analyzes the differences and consensus among various left-wing parties and discusses the governing characteristics of left-wing ruling coalition government and their future development trends. This study is not only important for grasping the evolution of political power in Eastern Europe after the drastic changes, but also is of practical significance and academic value for discussing the development of communist successor parties and their future development trends.This paper is divided into five chapters. ChapterⅠdescribes the national party system, the political system change and the government transfer in Eastern European countries after the dramatic changes, which is the political background of left-wing coalition government in Eastern Europe. Multi-party system is the basis of political system changes in Eastern Europe and is also the basis of left-wing coalition government. ChapterⅡfocuses on the development of left-wing parties in Eastern Europe and the profile of left-wing coalition government. This chapter makes an in-depth analysis and elaboration about the changes and ups and downs of left-wing parties in Eastern Europe, pointing out that communist successor parties is the core of left-wing coalition government in Eastern Europe and the existence of left-wing coalition government depends on the development of communist successor parties. ChapterⅢanalyzes the generation causes of left-wing coalition government in Eastern Europe. The immature Eastern European political parties are the external conditions for the generation of left-wing coalition government in Eastern Europe, whereas the needs of contending with right-wing parties, re-shaping political image and expanding the political base are the internal causes of left-wing coalition government. ChapterⅣdeeply analyzes the differences and consensus in left-wing coalition government, pointing out that it is inevitable to have divergences among different parties in left-wing coalition government in areas like political line and economic policy, and it is essential to eliminate divergences and reach agreement for the stability of left-wing coalition government. ChapterⅤproposes some problems that left-wing coalition government needs to face. This paper thinks Left-wing coalition government in Eastern Europe is the inevitable product of the political transition of Eastern Europe. In a political environment of contending with right-wing political parties, left-wing parties find a way to win the ruling status and realize their political aspiration by establishing coalition government. However, left-wing political parties still have big problems such as how to establish a stable governing basis, how to shape a good political image and how to enhance the ability of coalition governing.
