Since 1980s, the taxi industry in our country has started to develop. As the development and people's living standard, taxi is increasingly playing an important part of the city's transportation and constitutes people's life. But problems come with convenience. In recent years, we could see frequent strikes from taxi drivers, from which we find that there are deficiencies with our taxi operation system that requires improvement. Therefore, there is great significance in studying strategies of reforming the current taxi operation system which will be focused in this article.The writer made the study mainly on the basis of economic law, using the basic theories of sociology and economics, combining methods of history study, comparison study and the method of integration of theory and practice.Firstly, it studied the advantages and disadvantages of the current three typical operation systems by analyzing the developing history of taxi industry. Secondly, it explained the law issues about the management right, monopoly and price control in the taxi industry and also analyzed its reasons concerning history, government and enterprise. Thirdly, it introduced the taxi running system in America, Britain, New Zealand and Hong Kong in order to conclude the experience for China. Lastly, according to the study and by comparing the two opposite academic views, the writer put forward law proposals which are altering government control measurement, legislating uniform and complete law concerning taxi industry and establishing taxi driver benefits protecting system. This will help to find a scientific, innovative and systematic law system that is adjusted with present China's reality.
