The Rise Of Latin American Leftists, Influences And Inspiration To Our Country

The world socialist movement fell into a low ebb in the late 80s and early 90s after the Soviet Union and Eastern upheavals. For a time, capitalism seems to completely defeat socialism. However, since 1998, since Chavez was elected President of Venezuela, the Latin American left-wing win the general election in more than 10 countries, in the short term, Latin American leftists'rise in large numbers had been a new political scene in Latin America. Some leftist political parties even hold highly the "socialist" banner, so that the socialist movement once again becomes the focus of attention. We should fully affirmed their socialist movement and their practice of exploring the development path suitable to their own country actively, we should also calmly consider their challenges which they facing and objectively analyze its possible consequences, recognize its position and role in international communist movement. China and Latin American countries all belong to developing countries, in the course of development they are facing some similar problems, a series of lessons they met on the road of development have provided important inspiration to our country in building a socialist harmonious society. By summarizing and analyzing the reasons of Latin America leftists'rise and the challenges they faced during their ruling, this will help us from the experiences and lessons, it also will serve us well to build a socialist harmonious society.In this paper, it first focus on the analysis of foreign and domestic experts and scholars'point of view on the Latin American leftists, and by combing the history of Latin America and Latin American left-wing parties'governance strategy, it presents the definition, classification, characteristics, political opinion of Latin American left-wing, the main symbol and reasons of their rise. With regard to the definition of the Left in Latin America, this paper argues: First, the Latin American left should reflect the "Latin American characteristics" It is not only different from the traditional left-wing, but also different from the bourgeois left-wing government, to determine its standard we should comprehensively consider the nature of these parties, the policy agenda, the policy objectives ,guiding ideology and other aspects. Second, it makes a deduction of the current characteristics and political views of Latin American leftists. Third, it analyzes the main symbols of the rise of the Latin American leftists, as well as the main reasons for it. By analyzing the Latin American countries'reform process and the current situation, it comes to: the failure of neo-liberal reforms, the traditional political parties'failure in resolving economic and social problems, long-term existence of inner-party struggle and corruption which played a crucial role in the rise of the Left in Latin America; The restoration of bourgeois democracy played a role in guaranteeing systems to the rise of the Left in Latin American leftists; Chavez and some other left-wing governments'successful practice in the development of economy and society had a great effect on modeling and encouraging other leftists to gain the political power.The second part of this paper emphasize on the current state of Latin American Left-wings'governance in the field of politics, economy, society and diplomacy, and combine with the reality of these countries, it objectively analyzes the challenges and difficulties faced by them.The third part of this essay analyzes the impact of the rise of the leftists on the background of the current reality of it. Given that the leftists have not ruled a long time, its reform, development model and the theory are still at the exploratory stage, far from the successful model. Therefore, this section mainly analyzes the impact of political future of Latin America, the future path of development, international relations and the impact of the international communist movement which maybe occured after the rise of Latin American Leftists。The socialist movement advocated by Latin American Leftists once again arouses people's concern about socialism, but because they are still faced with daunting task of national development, and its idea of"21st century socialism"theoretical system and practice are not yet mature, imperfect. Coupled with the current international financial crisis on the left-wing government in power, this paper argues: the socialist movement initiated by Latin American Leftists will not make a real impetus to international socialist movement, but it undoubtedly plays an important and positive role in promoting international socialist movement under the current situation, it has crucial experimental values in exploring the realization of socialism for the new situation, and it also has important theoretical and practical significance in enriching people's understanding of socialism, persisting and developing scientific socialism.The last part of this paper puts more emphasis on the inspiration to our country of Latin American Leftists'rise. China and Latin American countries all belong to developing countries, in the course of development they are facing similar issues and there have been some similar developing state. The rise of Latin American Leftists undoubtedly gives China a lot of inspirations in building socialist harmonious society.This paper used the literature analysis method, a comparative analysis method, the historical analysis method and the other methods.
