The Development Progress And Basic Experience Of CPC's Religion Policy Since The Founding Of China For 60 Years

"To correctly treat and handle the religious issue is an important task in the building of China's socialist modernization cause, and a significant content of building socialism with Chinese characteristics", as it relates to the economic development, social stability, national unity and the reunification of our country. Since the People's Republic of China had been founded, it has attached great importance on the religious issues, actively exploring the right religion policy to deal with China's religious issue and considering it as an important component of China's revolution and construction.In this paper, the development progress of Chinese Communist Party's religious policy and work over a period of 60 years since the founding of PRC was reviewed by literature study method and historical research method:from the initial establishment of the party's religious policy in the early period of our country, to the devious development in the period of comprehensive socialist construction, the completely denied of the religious policy in the period of "Cultural Revolution", the effort of setting things to rights of the religious field since the Third Plenary Session, the all-round development of the religious policy after 1990s, until to the gradual improvement of our Party's religious policy in the new situation. At the same time, on the basic of reviewing and reorganizing our Party's religious policies in different periods in the 60 years since the founding of our country, this paper also make a deep analysis of the religious policy's whole development progress. According to the practice of the religious work in different periods, the basic experience of well doing the religious work and the development characteristics of our Party's religious policy are summarized. The development of religious policy is course concerned with recurring practice and awareness and constantly summarization and deepening. Over a period of 60 years since the founding of PRC, relating to the understanding, the theories, the policies, the principles, the measures and the practices, etc., our Party not only has success, experience and right decisions, but also has failures, lessons and wrong resolutions. In a word, under the guide of Marxist religious view, the 60 years' development progress of our Party's religious policy make us have a clearer understanding of religious issues, a more thorough theory, a more mature policy, a more appropriate measure, and a more effective practice, reflecting the political character and wisdom of the Party which stands as the vanguard of the Chinese working class and also of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation.
