As a typical representative of the modern market economy, securities market is the product of highly developed credit economy and performs an important role in economic development of all countries. In the process of establishing and improving socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics, securities market is also under rapid development. However, as our securities market is at a primary stage of development and illegal behaviors are not rare, we have to take effective measures to exercise control and supervision over it. Therefore, a study of supervision and management regulations in securities market is of great significance for the development of Chinese securities market. In this thesis, a summary of the basic theories on securities supervision and management system as well as a systemic analysis of its current situation in China will be provided based on a study on it, then the main issues in the current securities supervision system of China will be pointed out and some constructive suggestions on reforming and improving this system will be put forward.The thesis consists of four parts:First: a general description of the basic theories, purposes, principles, and significance of securities supervision and management as well as the models of this system in some countries will be displayed to help readers gain a macroscopic understanding of it and lay the theoretical foundation for further elaboration.Second: this part is focused on the supervision contents of the State Council. An introduction to the definition and property of China Securities Regulatory Commission will be given at the beginning, and then the emphasis is on the functions, responsibilities, regulatory measures and procedures, as well as the restraint mechanism of CSRC.Third: this part is mainly about Self-regulation. At the beginning, the functions and limits of Self-regulation are discussed, which is followed by an introduction to the definition, characteristics of securities associations and its current development abroad; at last, the importance lays on the property, status and responsibilities of Securities Association of China.Fourth: this part is the priority of the whole thesis for the reason that constructive suggestions are put forward to improve the securities supervision system grounded on a study on the main issues in China's securities market regulation.
