The Analysis On Realistic Values Of The Reform And Opening Up

Modernization has been the theme of the mankind development over hundreds of years. While China's modernization with no exception has been the leading melody of the modern Chinese history since the Opium War in 1840. The founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 heralds a new era for Chinese people. For the first time in history China can decide its own fate and choose its own road towards the orientations to build a wealthy and prosperous nation. The 30 years of the reform and opening up are divided into five stages: the proposal of the reform and opening up and its initial implementations; the conduct of all-around reform experiments in the urban areas; the summing up of its experiences and adjustments; the overall advance to build a socialist market economy; to further build a well-off and harmonious society.The second part deals with the profound changes in China brought forth by the reform and opening up in economy, politics, culture and other fields of social life and the process that China becomes strong. In the past years, the GDP of China has been increased year on year by 10%, ranking the 4th place of all the countries in the world in 2006. In the span of 30 years, the democratic legal systems develops and political development keeps pace with the economical development, exerting strong influence upon economies. The social independence matures. The social structures diversify. The social ensure and support system develops to perfection. To build a society of harmony and improve people's well-being becomes a common concern in the country. Throughout the 30 years, the Chinese people take on a new look in ideology and spirit. Innovations in culture are widely conscious among the people. The mainstream theories flourish. Time-honored, excellent cultures are carried forward and flourish. And foreign cultures are respected and spread. The public culture service and culture industries develop fast. Thus, the reform and opening speed up the modernization process to a great extent.The 3rd part analyzes and sums up the reasons why the reform and opening up has been so successful. The new problems and contradictions in the reform process will be solved according to the theories of the Scientific Outlook of Development. It is proved that the reform and opening up is the right choice to the nation's fate and the only solution to develop socialism with Chinese characteristics and to rejuvenate the nation. Only socialism can save China and only reform and opening up can make China prosper and modernization come true.
