The reform of judges has been lasted for a long time since China started the judicial reform at the end of the 20'th century. After a number of reform measures which are used on the judges, we can see that the role of judges becomes more and more complicated. But the question is:should judges have so many responsibilities? So many people say words about this question. But among all of them, we can see that they have different perspectives and different conclusions. The reason why we have many perspectives and conclusions is that we didn't find a right precondition to talk about the role of judges. As a matter of fact, perhaps the "due process of law" is an appropriate perspective to talk about role of judges. Judges can play the role well in that process. And that is what I say in the first part of this article. However, we need to know the meaning of "due process of law", "judges" and "role" at first. That is the main content of the second part. Then, after clarifying the conception of some key words, I start talking about the role of judges in a due process of law--from the beginning to the end of the process. And then I give my conclusion about the role of judges in the forth part. After I write down the conclusion, I find that there are still some questions in my mind. For example, whether the role of judges I said in this article is suitable for our country or not? Or should we have to find another way for the reform of the judges? Or whether the judges now are good enough in this country or not? After all, my viewpoint is just a reference. Besides that, we have a lot of things to do.
