| Tennis is a sport with deep culture and elegant attribute which can meet people's fashionable and health needs. It has become an important recreational fitness program and is gradually accepted by modern college students. Now it is gradually popularized in universities.Tennis started late in Liaoning province, all kinds of works are groping forward. On the basis of drawing on previous research and referring to the relevant literature, we analyze the questionnaire and interview experts in order to develop tennis in universities of Liaoning province orderly and rapidly and promote and improve tennis in universities. According to the geographical differences, we select some students and teachers in 10 universities of southern,middle and western Liaoning as the survey,make a comprehensive analysis of the present situation of tennis and existing problems and give practical counter measurements.We draw a conclusion by way of statistics and analysis : tennis enriches the connotation of campus culture in Liaoning province by its unique culture and perfects the function of campus culture by its unique function; college students in Liaoning province have high enthusiasm for tennis, tennis as a lifelong sense of physical conscious has been accepted by college students and it develops well and healthily; the hardware condition of tennis such as the number of sites or facilities and management condition in universities of Liaoning province is not so good; the faculty of universities is strong, but the operational level of tennis teachers is not high, to some extent, this hinders the development of tennis; researches on tennis are relatively of less, the level of research on tennis is not high, tennis theory is not enough; tennis is not carried out ideally for college students in their spare time.The suggestions are: universities should increase the investment in tennis in order to let the construction of university facilities are able to adapt the law of development of tennis; the departments concerned should take a planned and organized teacher training for college teachers of Liaoning province to increase professional quality of college teacher in Liaoning province; college teachers should give full play to the advantages of cutting-edge scientific research position to promote and develop tennis in universities; the content of tennis teaching is single, we should change it to enhance the combination of games and matches, learn tennis through games and matches, give full play to the fitness and entertainment function; increase the propaganda of tennis so that more college students can get to know tennis; establish a sound competition system, organize college tennis competitions in different levels, at the same time, continuously enrich the content and form of competition to make more students know tennis and start to play tennis; strengthen the organization and management of tennis club(or association).
