Writing, which is one of the integrated skills of language knowledge for the secondary school senior students, can fully reflect students'communicating skill level. With the emphasis for the students'communicating skill in our country, more and more teachers have begun to attach importance to English writing teaching. During the process of a learner's second language acquisition, the transfer of native language is a phenomenon that can not be denied, and there are obvious tracks of native language negative transfer in the writing of the senior students, which is the main obstacle for improving the level of writing for the senior students.Based on the transfer theory and previous research achievement, this thesis illustrates theories of mother tongue transfer, error analysis, contrastive analysis and inter-language and the important significance that they give to the English teaching. Then this thesis introduces the research objective, research method, research procedure and data analysis. Then the text errors, which are based on 102 compositions selected from Grade 3 students in No.2 Senior High School of Heilongjiang Province, are analyzed and classified. Then this thesis explains the causes of these errors. The research, with a lot of examples provided, found that the text errors that are caused by native language negative transfer are mainly reflected on the lexical, substance, syntactic and textual levels. The study shows that negative transfer of native language is one of the major sources of the errors, and the main reason is the difference between the two languages.Based on all the above, a final conclusion is made that senior high school students, who are in the beginners'stage of English study, are short of adequate English inputs in the Chinese language learning environment, so it is certain that there are negative transfers in their English writing. Therefore, this thesis gives more teaching advice and implications in the future, and it is suggested that by means of proper and effective teaching, teachers should have a correct attitude toward the errors and should help students cultivate English sense, enlarge the language inputs, form proper habits of writing and increase the exercises of text analysis to improve their writing ability.
