Faith is a kind of people's trust and worship to certain ideal belief which is considered as their standard of behavior and valuation. It reflects one's right values, outlook on life and the world, meanwhile affects the moral choice, aesthetic interest and value orientation of a person or even a group. College students are the society's elites, as well as the successors of the socialism with Chinese characteristics on which future is depend students'faith and value orientation. Therefore, it is an important issue to do this research on the current situation of contemporary college students and seek coping strategies.This paper investigates beliefs of students in ten universities with a total number of 1137, and from different majors (mainly in liberal arts, science and arts), using SPSS17.0, statistical software, to analysis the data, and then reach five conclusions. First, contemporary college students lack the importance of belief. Second, the mainstream of their belief is correct, while there are some individual problems. Third, the most effective concept to the students is the patriotism. Fourth, the quality of classroom teaching has a direct influence on students'belief. Fifth, different types of faith have different impact on the ideological and political education.This thesis verified the four common experiences in Marxism education, using hypothesis testing, correlation research, and causal research to test and verify some experiences in Marxism education. First, Marxism plays an important role in ideological and political education of the universities. Second, classroom teaching is the main study position for students'to accept Marxism. Third, the cognition of students'to Marxism affects their view on the belief of Marxism directly. Fourth, the teaching effect of the theory of Marxism affects the extent and view of their belief to Marxism, the cognition to the theory of Marxism. Having analyzed the origin of the current situation of college students'belief. There are two factors, one is the extent of attention to belief, and the other is the teaching effect of Marxism at school. Specifically, the extent of belief could affect one's cognition to Marxism, the basic situation, values and outlook on life. The teaching effects have influence on students'cognition, learning initiative and their values on belief of Marxism; by literature review, it comes out that the main factors affect belief are the impact of the globalization, the multiple value orientation, and the current contradiction in society. In addition, some non-Marxism propaganda in mass media also has certain influence on students'belief.The author puts forward the contents to enhance the carrier of faith education. To make the education effective, it is possible to emphasize the significance of faith, and treat it as a theme of higher education, as well as the core of ideological and political education; it is possible to enhance the whole quality and capability of the teaching group, highlight the teaching effect, perfect the rules and regulations, establish long-term mechanism and create a harmony college atmosphere; it is possible to construct good social atmosphere, develop social productivity energetically, reflect the superiority of the socialist system, strengthen Party's construction, build up good family atmosphere, create optimistic press opinion. It is possible to give full play to students'autonomy, guiding them enhance self-teaching.
