In the era of knowledge economy, it is such an educational system that we need, which can develop the potential and cultivate the innovational ability. Constructivism believes that the student is his own architect of knowledge. In a certain social and cultural background,as well as in a situation, the learner acquires lots of knowledge with others'help and necessary study materials. The four factors, situation, conversation, cooperation and meaningful construction, make up of Constructivism. The teacher needs to create a situation to make the learners go into study.Situational teaching refers to a way of how to get to the best teaching purposes, in which the teacher creates the images and special scenes or atmosphere to inspire and attract the students. Multimedia technology is just the most effective tool to create the situation, especially the visual situation.Today at full speed with the advance of information technology,teachers must make full use of multimedia technology to help teach. Especially in history teaching, with the multimedia technology, we can"replay history"to help students construct an audio-visual, independent and efficient class, which can achieve the best teaching goals.For this and to advance the history teaching, the multimedia-based situational teaching has been introduced. Thus, this experimental study, the application of multimedia-based situational history teaching in junior school, has been carried out practically and effectively. Through practice, the effective integration of information technology and school subjects teaching, with the multimedia-based situational teaching as a carrier for students to acquire knowledge and Constructivism as the theoretic support, has developed the students'innovative ability. This study systematically puts forward the principle and strategies about how to construct teaching situation by using multimedia technology, which can be more effectively applied in history teaching. And this study also has operability, which more teachers could take part in,and makes them research together and rethink together, promoting their professional growing.This study summed up many different methods of creating situational history teaching by using multimedia; These methods can make students experience history through situational activity, participate history through situational timing and consider history through situational language. The experimental study indicates that the students have had obvious improvement in autonomous studying, the ability of analyzing problems, oral expressional ability and cooperative ability, also in their study results. That is to say, the multimedia-based situational teaching helps improve the teachers'ability, which has improved the results of the students'studying. So, the study,"the application of multimedia-based situational history teaching in junior school", is a worthwhile research project.This study takes junior school history for example, analyzing the actual effects of situational history teaching from many dimensions. Eventually, students threw themselves into studying actively, which formed an atmosphere of being happy to study and enjoying studying and at last constructed a lively and efficient history class.
