| High school students are at a crucial stage of gradually developing their value as well as the view of life and world. Textbook knowledge cannot provide everything they need for their mental and physical development which would undoubtedly require the nourishment from various kinds of extra-curriculum activities. Abundant campus activities are of great importance in the healthy, comprehensive and sustainable development of high school students. To be more specific, initiative cultural events would encourage students'initiative and activity and help them mature in a greater degree by integrating the real demand of students with the educational aim of the school.This thesis is based on a profound research and analysis of campus events in Shanghai PW School. Summarizing years'experience of moral education, analyzing the role campus events play in the education for all-round development and in the process of cultivating comprehensive quality talents, as well as gathering feedbacks and suggestions from teachers and students via surveys, I draw the conclusion that campus events often overemphasize the will of schools and at the same time students lose their initiative. Furthermore, events initiated by students would have positive effects on the cultivation of comprehensive quality of students and will truly realize the primary significance of the events.The case study of several events initiated by students' discussion of the positive effects of initiative activities on the improvement of comprehensive quality of students and analyzes the different roles of administrators, teachers and students in the organization of events. Moreover, the leading role of students in the process of planning, implementing, getting feedback and improving helps to seek the basic modes of initiative events.At the end, the guarantee mechanism of high school students' initiative events is discussed. This thesis serves as the suggestion for high schools to encourage student initiative campus events.
