Investigation And Study On Relative Factors Of College Students' Self-Harm

To investigate and study on relative factors of college students'self-harm, aimed at providing theoretical basis for further psychological intervention, exploring intervention model which is suitable for college students in our country, and preventing and decreasing college students'self-harm,and impro-ving their mental health.Choosing 1800 different grade college students who came from 12 universities as study objects. Applying self-designed college students'self-harm questionnaire, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) to evaluate by groups during from October 2009 to March 2010, and to find out the incidence and distribution of college students'self-harm in our country,to investigate and analysis relative factors which influenced self-harm.The incidence of college students'self-harm was 26.7%;there was significant difference between sex,area origion,speciality,male students'self-harm incidence was higher than the female students'; science speciality was higher than arts;students who came from country was higher than students from town,and studens from town wan significantly higher than students from city;there were many factors which affected college students'self-harm, significant difference of self-harm incidence was observed between different family.growth experience and parenthood.consumed beha-vior,coping style, personal relation,personality,self-acceptance; analyzed the factors by Logistic regression.positive coping style when came in trouble was protective factor.whereas parents condemnation.bad personal relation.loneliness.lovelorn are risk factors of college strdents self-harm. 1.The incidence of college students'self-harm was high.it was influenced by many factors,including gender.speciality, area origion;male students' self-harm incidence was higher than the females students', science speciality was higher than arts;students who came from country was higher than students from city.2.There was close correlation between the occurrence of students'self-harm and family.growth experience, parenthood,consumed behavior.coping style, personality and self-acceptance.3. To prevent and reduce students'self-harm effectively, which need work togeher by family, school and community.We should help the college students to build positive coping style and improve their mental health level.
