Modern personality theories derive from the West, therefore, analyzing the major schools of the theory, such as psychoanalysis, behaviorism, humanism,and cognitivism, and personality education practice can provide some theory reference to our personality education during new period and help us choose personality education methods which adapt to china's actual conditions.There is a close relationship between ideological and political education and personality education. One of the functions is personality modling. Universities see all-round development of students as its ultimate target, and combine personality education with moral education. The development of students personality showed many contradictions and conflicts. Ideological and political education combines traditions, humanistic care with programme methods which lead students to think about their behavior and build good attitude toward life from the level of philosophy and value system.This graduation thesis combines pedagogic of idea and politics, psychology, sociology with pedagogy. It researches the function of ideological and political education in personality modling of university students in the context of reform and opening and some unique physiological and psychological features in adolescence. It tries to research some new paths to personality education.
