| Science, education and talented people consist of major part of increasing national power and its international competitiveness in the world. College students, as the outstanding intellectuals and the main force of constructing our harmonious society in the future, are the most important human resource need to be brought up in academic world. Political education is especially significant in college education. It may contribute to realizing well-off society and speed up modernization society development. However, great changes are approaching our country. After reform and opening, the diversion of the values of our society becomes intensive. It makes it urgent to bring up the college students’ political quality. For the purpose of making substantive progress in political education, as political educators, we need to keep up with the time and be adaptive to the new environment, be creative and revolutionary, explore new methods, understand and utilize the rules in political education under the guidance of our communist party.To accomplish this goal, we have to improve and optimize the college rites. What are college rites? All the rites happen in college that have the function of culture inheritance and carry forward culture traditions are college rites. College rites have great potential of educating. It makes the participants influenced by the prominent culture atmosphere unwittingly and brings their spirit to a new level. Fully use college rites as propagation and education method is critical in political education. In order to make college rites successful, we have to lay our eyes on the realistic meaning of college rites, deeply dig its political education function, and explore effective implementation ways of college rites. This dissertation consists of six sections. Chapter 1: IntroductionThis section includes five subsections: a. the subjects and objects; b. the currents status of college rites study; c. our thinking and methods. In this chapter, the writer is trying to explain the origin of college rites, introduce the current status of college rites study, and discuss the theoretical meaning and realistic meaning of college rites.Chapter 2: College culture and college ritesThis section explains what is college culture and its structure. And then focuses on the contents and features of college rites. The relations between college culture and college rites are discussed from four different aspects. The concept of college rites is fully and deeply analyzed in this chapter. Chapter 3: The comparison of college rites under culture diversionIn this section, Northwestern Polytechnic University(U.S.) and Guizhou University of Finance and Economics(P.R.C) are chosen as representatives of “mosaic culture” and “Chinese traditional culture” respectively. The differences of college rites under different culture background are compared and discussed. Chapter 4: Analysis of the function of college rites.This is the major part of this dissertation. Based on the comparison of the college rite under different culture background in last section, the political education function of college rites is thoroughly and comprehensively discussed in this chapter. Chapter 5: Methods of realizing political education function of college ritesThis chapter is the kernel part of this dissertation. It is divided as three subsections: theory guidance; principle protection; and method implementation. Chapter 6: The last part of this dissertation is conclusion. It summarizes our study and discussion and point out those college rites can be used as a powerful tool facilitating college political education. |
