Textbook is a bridge between curriculum and teaching. It is both the carrier of program and an important basis for teaching and learning. Preparation of materials directly affects the quality of effective teaching and effective learning. Successful promotion of new physics textbook in six years later, as the new textbook more in line with the needs of teaching, it is necessary to study new physics textbook from an objective point of view to seek further development. By the way of comparing physics textbook between Chinese and American, from a new field review the new physics textbook. There are many physics textbook versions in the United States, and China has five different versions of current high school physics textbook as well. In order to make this study both profound and representative,we choose two sets of the most representative of contemporary physics textbook to reveal the profound differences between U.S. and chinese high school physics textbook. By statistical deferent versions of American physics textbooks from 1987 to 2005 the selection rate, choose physics textbook《Physics: Principles and Problems》as a representative of the United States; through statistical materials of different versions from 2004 to 2009 in provinces choice situation, select the PEP materials as the representative one.Predecessors have done a certain comparative studies in the structure ; the multicultural characteristics;the the publication and use between American and chinese textbooks。This study reveals deeper differences, focusing on the knowledge content of physics textbooks, the knowledge structure, scientific method differences. There are three characteristics in American physics textbooks: rich in knowledge, and even content some knowledge of the University stage in our country; knowledge structure comply with the cognitive law of students, The span between knowledge points is small and it is easy for students to receive; highlight the significant of scientific education, emphasis on mathematical methods and experimental methods in physics research and the ecological importance of experimental teaching.Starting from the comparison between Chinese and American physics textbooks, reveals the underlying causes of less material and low degree of difficulty in our textbook. By analyzing deferent sequence in the same knowledge of the two textbooks,come to the method how American textbook reduce the difficulty. Finally, through comparison of physics textbook in differences in scientific education,find out that our physics textbook is inadequate education in the scientific method for our teaching, and provide the basis for scientific education. Give suggestion for the further improvement of our new physics textbooks。...
