Study On Current Situation Of English Teaching In Kindergartens Of Shenyang From The Perspective Of Partial Immersion Instruction

As an effective teaching model of second language acquisition, Immersion Instruction refers to teaching process which adopts non-native language as teaching language. The launch of Immersion Instruction in China includes various teaching activities adopting English as teaching language. It tends to expose Chinese children to English-speaking environment and ultimately promote the acquisition of English on the basis of development of native language. Its teaching aim is as follows:Fostering children's interests to Immersion Instruction English learning activity and inspiring their motivation of learning; Fostering children to develop a open-minded, tolerant attitude towards multivariate culture and different civilization; promoting children's capability of English thinking and communicating by the exposure of English language environment. Immersion Instruction is not at random, but a teaching process with its purpose and stages, usually in an unconscious way. Compared with the traditional way of teaching English as a second language, it emphases the communication of knowledge between English teacher and children under the natural and real living environment as well as the knowledge dissimilation and skill training.This thesis probes into the Immersion Instruction in the process of kindergarten, by analyzing the interviews on English teachers, parents and children, makes the conclusion as follows:1) English teaching aims have differences in different kindergarten grade.2) Partial Immersion English teaching in kindergarten stage is an integral part of children education.3) The teaching content and method various according to the ages of kindergarten children. However, curriculum's playful and life play an important role in them.4) The training of English teachers is worthy of intensive attention of associated education department.
