| September 18, 2005 General Administration of Sport, held the second conference on the National Physical Fitness and later reported: the physical health of our students has been continuing to improve ,however, the qualities of endurance, speed and power have been continuing to decline, for example, overweight rate is always up, the same with high rate of poor eyesight. On March 30, 2004, the Central Propaganda Department together with the Ministry of Education promulgated the requirements that "Schools for carry forward and cultivate the national spirit of the Program for the of Education": which ordered that physical education should be appropriate to add the content of Chinese Wushu arts, to nurture and carry forward the national spirits" .However, from the results of the questionnaire survey and interviews, to teachers and students of 13 secondary schools in Xinxiang City, we get the conclusion that the numbers of Wushu classes in middle schools are very low, only 186 people, 30% of the students had, the situations of Wushu teaching are not optimistic at all. The main reasons caused this situation are: school leaders stress little attentions on the Wushu teaching, also including the poor teaching situations, inadequate teaching hardware, numbers of insufficient professional Wushu teachers, they have not adapted to the Wushu art teaching space, equipment, most schools do not have any Wushu Equipment: Wushu Arts, in general, few numbers of qualified physical education teachers can better show the beauty of Wushu and the actions of Wushu do not explain in depth enough, and the understandings of Wushu and its cultures and the purposes of fostering it the national wealth behind are not that accurate. The lack of advsnced teaching philosophy, martial music and multimedia result in the loose of real interest to Wushu, In most cases, students obtain information from the action films, which misled their understandings to Chinese Wushu , when the students really learned Gongfu, they will feel being too far to their imginations and eventually lose interest to Wushu.These problems in middle schools need resolving in time. The teaching of Wushu should be well supervised and managed to publicize and promote our national spirits, and to correct the attitudes of students to the learning of Chinese Wushu artsI decided to proceed by investigation, analysis and other means to understand the status of Wushu arts teaching in middle schools, and to find out problems and shortcomings in the martial arts teaching, thus proposing appropriate solutions and strategies for the development of Wushu education in Xinxiang City. I hope that this paper can carry forward the traditional Wushu cultures and cultivate the national spirits. |
