Wushu,an excellent representative of traditional Chinese culture,acts as an important item in Chinese middle school physical education for 50 years,which has greatly advanced the populafizmion and development of Wushu sport.On April 3,2004 Publicity Department of CCCpC and Ministry of Education jointly issued"Outline for carrying forward and cultivating the national spirit education in primary and middle school",and in Se-ion 3,it specially puts forward "increasing a certain amount of Chinese Wushu lessons in physical education".Currently,the Wushu teaching is a window of carrying forward excellent national culture in-schookl as well as an important way to.develop Wushu.Though investigation on the situation of developing Wushu lesson teaching at.middle high schools in Beijing, I found that Wushu lessons were not widespread currently,parts of middle schools even did not or seldom conduct Wt-shu teaching in physical education.This fact affects the inheritance and further development of Chinese Wushu to some extent,and makes the Chinese Wushu cannot fulfill its great duty in developing the middle school'students' patriotic spirit,strengthen the self-confidence and courage,and persevering in physical education principle for life,etc.The reasons lie in different aspects,such as the content of Wushu course needs reform,attention on Wushu course is not enough,publicity for Wushu knowledge is not enough and the quality of physical education teachers is not high,the functions of comprehensive education and morality education are not combined well,etc.Due to the above-mentioned reasons,this paper tries to put forward the following suggestions to reform the current Wushu teaching:One,the leaders of education department and schools should attach more importance to Wushu course and increase the investment in both software and hardware of Wushu teaching;Two,strengthen the popularization of Wushu,guide students to properly understand Wushu and its function of improving the fitness of mind and body;Three,to adapt the demand of education development,we-should take' the.student's adaptability into consideration,work hard to strengthen the reform and research of the Wushu teaching content in many ways,and promote science of the teaching material;Four,combine Wushu teaching with morality education,strengthen the Wushu's function and values of comprehensive education;Five,set up proper teaching evaluation system and supervision mechanism for Wushucourse to ensure the order conduct of Wushu teaching in middle schools.
