With the rapid popularization of higher education in China, the university town becomes a new thing of the development process of higher education in recent years. Universities in the same town can share teaching resources because of the near distance. Nevertheless, there exist some problems on the sharing of teaching resources among universities in the same university town. This study aims to learn the current sharing situation of teaching resources between different universities in the same university town, and then find any existing problems. Some suggestions will be proposed by in-depth analysis of these issues, according to relevant theories. This study selected the university town of Chongqing as a case to carry out questionnaires and interviews to learn the intercollegiate sharing situation of teaching resources. Based on the existing problems discovered, some strategies of how to improve the sharing situation will be proposed. To sum up, the intercollegiate sharing situation of teaching resources is pessimistic in university town of Chongqing, because of the narrow sharing scope and little amount of shared projects. To promote the intercollegiate sharing of teaching resources in the same university town, the following strategies are proposed: First, the universities should change their original notions about intercollegiate sharing of teaching resource.Second, a coordination institution should be established to solve the emerging problems of the sharing process. Third, facilities are required such as means of traffic support, a common information platform, remote instruction systems and so on. Fourth, long-term plans of intercollegiate sharing should be made.
