Diagnoses And Analysis About The Current Status Of Traditional Sports Culture Of Shui Ethnic Minority In China

In the nineteenth century, western sports were introduced into China, which extruded China's minority traditional sports to a narrower developing room. How to inherit and develop minority traditional sports and help them get out of dilemma, has become an issue that people pay close attention to. This issue has become special feelings undesertable in the heart of those who have been working on minority traditional sports.This paper, taking San Du county, Guizhou, as an example, gives a diagnostic analysis on Shui Minority Nationality (spelled as SMN in the following) traditional sports, in order to work out solutions for them to develop. The study shows that:(1) Some traditional sports items of SMN, such as Shui martial arts, are close to extinction; (2) Some SMN traditional sports items, such as snatching ducks, have become public items for all nationalities. (3) The amusement of some SMN traditional sports, like horse race held on the day of Dragon Boat Festival, hasgradually diminished, whereas their competition feature has been strengthened.Diagnostic analysis:(1)The local government has neglected the protecting work of the traditional culture for a long time and lead to some SMN traditional sports items losing; (2)Some SMN people get out of thire homes and lead to some SMN traditional sports items losing;(3) Lacking of the organization manage lead to the SMN culture losing;(4)The developing of science and technolog with the outside culture being intruded lead to some SMN traditional sports culture losing;(5)Because various nationalities live in the same area, where small groups of minority people live among big ones, the special characteristics of SMN traditional items has been decreased; (6)Shortage of funds has restricted the inheritance and developing of the SMN traditional sports culture;(7)The changed amusement of SMN lead to the SMN traditional sports losing. Strategies to solve problems above are: (1)Gives scope to the superirity of resources and creats the tourtism brand of SMN traditional sport culure;(2)Strengthen the collecting and ordering work of SMN traditional sports; (3)Speeding up and building the rate of the traditional sport curriculum; (4) Solutions can be found from the view point of bodybuilding. (5) Solutions can also be found from the view point of economy development; (6)Speeding up the race that takes the traditional curriculum into the class;(7)Increasing the rate of SMN traditional sport to outside. In conclusion, if we take good measures, Shui Minority Nationality traditional culture will find its good place to exist and develop.
