As an important teaching method, classroom questioning is made use of during the process of the teaching activity and links the communication of teacher and students. But there are some problems exist in the current junior English classroom questioning, this will be bad for achieving the teaching objectives. Many scholars at home and abroad have conducted a study of theories and practices of classroom questioning and have made great contributions. But most of their studies focus on classroom questioning strategies and effective classroom questioning, and they does not pay enough attention to the condition of students'answering, especially about the situation of questioning without answer. Therefore, to research the present condition and strategy of questioning without answer in junior English class is still of theoretical and practical significance..To begin with, the thesis analyses the background, the purpose and research methods of questioning without answer in junior English class. Then, based on the related academic basis and the research status at home and abroad, this thesis using questionnaires and interviews mainly to research the present situation of classroom questioning in junior English class. After analyzing and summarizing, find out the reason why questioning without answer occur in English class, some strategies are gave from the aspects of the designing of the questions, asking questions, waiting for answers, asking students to answer and feedback.
