In colleges and universities, salary system reform plays an important role in human resource management and internal reformation, and it is conducive to the development of colleges and universities. The studies on salary system reform has practical significance for straightening out the salary relations, solving the equalitarianism, and it also important for the initiative and creative of universities'teachers and staffs on the matter, it will increasing the competition abilities of the universities.Based on the theories of salary system, this paper tries to find out the experience of successes and deficiencies in the reform by adopting the study method of substantial evidence and integrating the exploration and practice in compensation system reform of Y College in last decade. During the ten years, although the constant system reformation has brought the changing of mind, promoted the teachers'team building and developed the academic scholarship, teaching and research activities, there also some problems appeared are as follows; compare to the other colleges, the relatively lower in compensation leads to lacking of external competitiveness; salary system reform is relative lag; salary constructions is unreasonable, and it is failed to pay more attention to the monetary compensation; evaluation system is not sound. We present some ways to solve these problems, such as developing the salary level, optimization salary construct and positions, setting up key performance index.
