Trigonometric functions has been an important part of high school mathematics. It belongs to a class of basic elementary functions which high school students should master. However, the content of teaching also changed greatly in recent years. In our research, we choose several high school students to approach the case studies. Data is collected by testing, interviewing and other methods to study the situations for the trigonometric functions teaching in high schools, as well as the specific reasons for these situations arising. Results how that students may master the basics of trigonometric functions, while need further help with the concept of trigonometric functions on arbitrary angle and the triangular identity transformation. Strong evidence shows that students still lacking in computation, logical reasoning ability and capacity of using the functions flexible. The problems have a certain relationship with the new curriculum reform is.In such cases, the study analyzed the following reasons:(1)the particularity of trigonometric functions and the new curriculum reforming of teaching content. (2) the subjective factor of the student which varies from the families, schools, social societies and other environmental differences. (3) the teaching methods of different teachers.
