The Study Of College Students' Ideal And Conviction Education From The Perprective Of Socialism Core Value System

The Sixth Plenary Session of the CPC's Sixteenth Central Committee made great decisions of establishing the system of socialist core values. In the "Resolutions of the CPC Central Committee on major issues regarding the building of a harmonious socialist society", the Party, for the first time, clearly put forward this important topic and strategic task, which is a major theoretical innovation made by the Party on the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, and a major task proposed by the Party on the basis of historical experience and scientific analyses of development trends. The Seventeenth Congress report also highlighted the important position and role of the establishment of the socialist core values system in the construction of socialist culture. Hereafter, President Hu Jintao further proposed to the whole party that "Build up the system of socialist core values and make socialist ideology more attractive and cohesive." The proposal of the theory of the socialist core values system not only pointed out a direction for scientific development concept which is building a socialist harmonious society and building socialist political, economic and cultural civilizations, but also strengthened people's faith in Marxism and developed correct values so as to provide spiritual support and development power for scientific development concept. Ideal and faith is the highest value that people seek and yearn for a certain period, a confirmation by people of the truth of a theory and the correctness of an actual behavior, as well as a concentrated reflection of people's outlook on the world, life and values. Once it is formed, it will become a long-term spiritual power dominating and controlling people's practical activities. Correct ideal and faith is a powerful spiritual force which can stimulate people's creativity and working enthusiasm, encourage people's fighting spirit and excite people's hearts. And it is the fundamental driving force and spirit source for the college students'growth and development. Therefore, we should effectively put the system of socialist core values into the whole process of the higher education in ideal and faith and the construction of spiritual civilization, and make it the conscious pursuit of the students.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part briefly illustrates the purpose and significance of the topic, reviews the current domestic and international academic research, and then gives my own ideas and methods. The second part theoretically elaborates the system of socialist core values, ideals, beliefs, ideal and faith, and the connotation of ideal and faith education, as well as the intrinsic relations between the system of socialist core values and the education in ideal and faith. The third part analyzes the mainstream trends and key issues of the contemporary Chinese college students from the perspective of the socialist core values system. The fourth part, also from the perspective of the socialist core values system, discusses the opportunities and challenges facing the work of education in ideal and faith for contemporary college students, and summarizes and analyzes the outstanding problems existing in the college students'ideal and faith education. The fifth part attempts to set up an ideal and faith education system with firm beliefs and high ideals, effectiveness and pertinence with the system of socialist core values as the guidance for the education of ideal and faith for the college students.
