The Impact Of Mass Media On The Ideological And Political Education In Universities And Its Countermeasures

The mass media, which has wide effects on society and a great advantage ofcommunication, is one of the necessary carriers of college students'ideological andpolitical education. It can provide information concerning thoughts, politics, and morality,which will have an important impact on the forming and developing of political qualitiesof college students.Therefore, it is one of the important factors of ideological andpolitical education in universities.As we know, contemporary college students are strongly curious, challenging andadvanced in thoughts. They accept new ideas and things easily, which is in accordancewith the equality, openess, and freedom.of mass media. And this makes college studentsbecome supporters of mass media, which will affect college students'thoughts andperformance, and bring out both positive and negative impact on college studentsideological political education.The thesis aims at carrying out ideological and political education by takingadvantages of the mass media. Based on the educational theories and analysis of thefactors of ideological and political education, the thesis probes into the positive andnegative effects of mass media on ideological and political education form the aspects ofeducators, students, carriers, environments, methods, contents, and effects of education,according to the basic rules of mass media.
