The thesis takes the Yao returned overseas Chinese in Shiwan mountain Overseas Chinese forest as the research subject, with the change theory and anthropological research methods, to describe and analyze the livelihood changes of Yao returned overseas Chinese. In the author's opinion, the Yao returned overseas Chinese in Shiwan mountain Overseas Chinese forest is a special group. Due to the historical and practical reasons, their livelihood has changed several times, and the changes are affected not only by the natural environment in which it exists, but also by the social environment. Yao returned overseas Chinese has changed sevever times, which also brings about the adaptation in material culture, custom, and spirit of culture. This paper also points out that The Yao returned overseas Chinese need to coordinate their state consciously and adapt to the new environment when facing a new round of livelihood changes after China's reform and opening up. For the government, they should considerate the current situation of the Yao returned overseas Chinese, giving more consideration in employments so as to enable them to do something in livelihood. In addition, the whole society should pay more attention to this special group rather than discrimination or neglect. Only in this way can we improve harmonious society forward in China.
