The Design And Realization Of WEB-based Distant Education System

Nowadays, Information Technology (IT) progresses fast, which leads to the co-operation of people reinforced increasingly. People pay more attention on aid to their intercourse and collaboration by using computer systems. The distant education system, i.e, D.E.S supported by computers, which utilize computer networks technique and multimedia technique to help teachers and students who are at different places to form a large-scale teaching and studying circumstance, where they can share their teaching resource and benefit their advantages mutually. The Web-based D.E.S, which based on computer networks, is a system that teachers transport their teaching information to every student by networks, and students receive useful information from networks. The D.E.S system is a research hotspot in the application of computer networks currently. Each system has realized distributed application, which can support a majority part function of distant education. The shortcoming of the system is their close property, which there can抰 access each other. This dissertation is focus on the research of user interface, teaching mode, the frame and the structure and other key techniques of Web-based computer D.E.S . The model of D.E.S , which support distributed co-operation work and its design concerned, and establish its detailed projects and research planning are proposed, and develop the D.E.S software based on Web networks surrounding by using JAVA language. The main works of this dissertation is included as follows: 1. The history and development of D.E.S are completely reviewed. The significance of D.E.S is briefly discussed; 2. A detailed discussion of the advantage of Web-based D.E.S is proposed based on the general understanding of other D.E.S; 3. A statement on D.E.S requirment analysis and functions is proposed according to results of deep analysis and reseach; 4. The crucial technic of D.E.S - eb, Java?is analysed and discussed. The technical methods and implement project proposed are put forward; 5. The module designing method of D.E.S is offered. A distant education platform can be well organized using the modules; 6. The computer D.E.S is developed and test run in school courses. The system is updated and perfected according to the running results; 7. The intending study is analysed at both the aspects of theory and application.
