The Design Of Item Bank In CAT System Based On Web

With the development of education and the maturation of computer networks technologies, more and more peoples accept the study model of distance education.To check the real level of the students, each examining center uses his own test system. From Classical Test Theory to Item Response Theory, people use many theories to make the test system realizable. And Computer Adaptive Test Based on Web is one of them .CAT meets IRT and becomes one of the important researchs about examination system in China .We research the Item bank of CAT system Based on Web.At the beginning of this article, we discuss CAT theory, introduce the generation and development of CAT system, analyze the theory basement, and point out the practical questions. Based on the existing theory, we analyze theoretically the design of the item bank .We discuss many questions from the design principle of the item bank to the validity of the item bank in order to find out the best design scheme of the item bank.In the second part of the article, we study the database hiberarchy and summarize their advantages and disadvantages. Because browser/server modal is the best, and it is a frequently-used structure , we introduce the web database , analyze the existent questions of the item bank on web , and give the method in the end.We use the Delphi 6 , SQL server,and ASP to solve the question , therefor we use Delphi and SQL server to exploit the background , and then we use ASP to exploit the web layout.The article introduces the examples of C language , and gives the designing idea and the step . At last ,we give several advices for the future design.
