With the acceleration of education reform, the manner of teaching evaluation is becoming stricter. Testing is one of the main methods of education evaluation. The Way of testing converts from paper test to computer-based test, the CBT the workload, but it is still same with traditional test, without considering the differences between the subjects’ability. To solve the problem of the ability differences between subjects, a new type of test appear, namely computer adaptive test (CAT).At present, the research of the application of CAT system has begun, some CAT systems has been developed in China and abroad. Because of the problem of lacking these studies, this paper will be based on the computer adaptive test system which developed by Dr Peng Lu, and combine with the high school English to set up the item bank. Finally, design experiments. Tried to test if it is better that the comparison of computer adaptive test.For high school and through the study on the adaptive test results, summary of the project parameters of the adaptive test.According to the research ideas, the paper is divided into five chapters, the main contents of each chapter are as follows:Chapter one. Describes the research background, research status, summarize the current research of vulnerability, puts forward the main contents of this paper, and gives the outline of the thesis. Chapter two. A review of related basic theory. Detailed introduces the theory of computer adaptive testing, and provide theoretical support for this study. Chapter three. Research and analysis. The process and key technology research of computerized adaptive testing, analysis of adaptive test system established by Dr. Lu Peng, IRT model, the choice of the system parameters estimation algorithm and selection strategy. Chapter four. Establishment the item bank and test design. Mainly for the adaptive test system has been established, combining the subject item bank, test design and implementation. Chapter five.Through the analysis of the test results, and then if it is better that the comparison of computer adaptive test. Chapter six. Summary the full text, and looks forward to its future development of adaptive test.
