| As we human beings have entered the 21st century, a high-tech revolution featured by information technology is coming. The globalization of economy and information makes the competition among countries' integrated power more and more drastic. Knowledge is more and more important in the social economy, as weii as tne human resources and the human education. Nowadays, lifelong education and 1 ifelong learning is becoming the focus of reformation and development of education in many countries. Lots countries are looking for all kinds of methods which use advanced technology to promote the development of lifelong education. .The auther believes that the development of lifelong education will be slow in a long time. However, with the appearance and development of internet, we find that there will be surprising changes in the development of lifelong education practice. This is determined by the special technical characters of internet梔igitization, network, high speed and large capacity. The emerge of internet will surely be of importance for lifelong education. This means that the emerge of internet has broken the time and space limitation in traditional education; it has offered a new communication for 1 ifelong education; it has suppl ied simulatedly designed practice for lifelong education; it has offered a feasible way to enlarge scale and reduce cost in lifelong education. Internet has important meaning to lifelong education: firstly, the emerge of internet promotes lifelong education to reform traditional teaching methods and styles; secondly, the emerge of internet offer the most important advantageous condition; thirdly, the emerge of internet forwards lifelong education system for further complement and development. On the other hand, we must see that the internet has a limited aspect: it lacks of real emotion communication; the large amount of information on the internet also has a detrimental aspect to the people of lifelong education; the development of internet technology can' t support the full expansion of lifelong education. Especial ly on the temporary time, it is not able to satisfy the diversified study requirements of 1 ifelong education. So, at the end of this article, the author thinks that we should take advantage of internet in lifelong education, but we can' t depend on internet too much.Internet should coordinate with other teaching methods.
