This present thesis is a research on the Mathematics Course Criteria (MCC for short) for compulsory education in China and the correspording Mathemtics coursebook in the context of classroom . Based on such methods as literature reference , questionaire,group talks, interviews, and classroom observation and looking into the belief , narrating ways, techniques to narrate the maths course target of the MCC, the thesis studies maths teachers' feeling and evaluation for MCC and students' feeling and evaluation for the Mathematics coursebook edited according to the MCC. It is pointed out what changes the use of the new Mathematics coursebook have brought about from the angles of teachers' ways of teaching, the students'learing styles and the tearchers' professional growth; and also problems in the experment for the use of the new maths coursebook are discussed. The whole thesis is made up of three parts.Part One Analysis of Features of MCCThis part conducts a comparative study on the new MCC and the traditional Outline for Mathematics Teaching (OMT for short ) from four aspects: belief ,character, narrating ways and teachniques for narrating the maths course target of the MCC.Part Two Follow-up Research on the Experiment for both MCC & the Mathematics Coursebook This part provides a follow-up research on the new coursebook and illustrates the changes that the use of the new coursebook has brought to the maths education in schools. The methods used include questionnaire, group talks, interviews and classroom observation. And the special instruments include questionaires for the teacher, questionaires for the student, questionnaires for the students' parents, the outline of interviewing teachers, the outline of interviewing students, the outline of interviewing schoolmasters, the outline of classroom observation, and the evaluation table of MCC. Also, the problems in the experiment are presented.Part Three Suggestions for the Use of the New Coursebook Part Three takes Part One and Part Two above as its basis and puts forward some suggestions for extending the current experiment on MCC and the new maths coursebook. The suggestions covers seven aspects, that is, activity teaching of mathematics, teachers' outlook of the coursebook, collaborative learing, outlook of basic knowledge and skill, rsearch of multicultural curriculum, teacher-as-reacher teaching.
