A Study On The Citizen's Moral View Of Middle School Students

This study aims to invent "Citizen's moral view Questionaire for Middle School Students" and to explore the characteristics of middle school students' moral view.Part I formulates the pre-questionaire of citizen's moral view. Part II is about the investigation. The findings of the investigation of 835 students are elaborated as the following:· The self-made questionnaire has good reliability and validity.· The mean scores in every dimensions are all above 3 points (midpoint), which indicates a general attitude of citizen's moral view of middle school students.· The key middle school students' scores in honesty and devotion are higher than those of the vocational school students while the scores of the vocational school students are higher in solidarity , diligence and frugality, and contribution. In observance of law the common middle school students get higher scores than those of vocational school students. The key middle school students' scores are lower than the common middle school students in contribution.· Citizen's moral view of different grades are quite different. The patriotism, observance of law, courtesy, honesty, solidarity, friendship, devotion and contribution manifest great difference in different grades.· Gender differences in citizen's moral view of middle school students are very significant. The girls' scores are much higher than the boys' in observance of law, courtesy, honesty, solidarity, friendship, devotion, and contribution.· Region differences exist in several dimensions. In friendship, diligence and frugality, and contribution, there is significant difference that the score of the students from rural area is higher than that of the students from urban area.· Educational proposal: Strengthening wholeness of moral education. Paying attention to hierarchy of moral education of citizen. Developing student's subjective self awareness.
