The curricula reform is the key point of the education system reforms for the schools. 21st century is the century for the development of bioscience; therefore, to reform the biology curricula in the middle schools is quite significant for fostering the talented people of 21st century.In order to do the preliminary comparison and study on some micro layers of the current biology (science) teaching of the middle schools in China and the United States, this article, which is based on the review of China's past 50-year development of the biology curricula in middle schools, compares the advantages and disadvantages of the biology curricula reforms in China with those in the United States by doing research on the histories of these two countries biology curricula reforms in their middle schools.This article is to do the comparing in terms of six aspects: The comparison of the curricula standards ^ theaims and the contents. The comparison of the curricula course development. The comparison of the curricula arrangement. The comparison of the teaching methods. The comparison of the training model. The comparison of the curricula appraisal. Simultaneously, this article will analyze the reasons,which make the biology (science) curricula reforms of the middle schools in these two countries similar and different.Finally, according to the current situation of China, it will propose some introductory opinions relating to the developing strategy for the biology (science) curricula reforms.
