The hope for the regeneration of nation lie in education and education in teachers. 21st century is the time concerns morn about teachers themselves. Therefore the expectation is that teachers will get overall renewed development and relevant studies on it would be more fulfilled. However for long in the education studies, more emphasis is put to factors other than teachers themselves. They focus mostly on cultivation function but neglect not only spontaneous consciousness and action of teachers' self-development but the function of teachers' own cultivation. In view of this, the article includes six parts.The first part: Introduction. Based on the former achievements and started form the researches of teacher image, qualities and education, the article presents the conception of teachers' self-development which aims at making teachers more humane so as to destruct the static model of studies on teacher qualities and approach a new way of improving teacher education. At the same time this part also demonstrates the studying methods, standpoint and theoretical evidences.The second part: Through the comparative analysis of relevant concepts, it explains the conception, characteristics and functions of teachers' self-development to make people have further understanding of it.The third part: From the outer condition and the inside mechanism two sides, the article brings to light the advantageous conditions of it in order to help teachers make full use of all possible education resources.The forth part: The concrete discussion of its phases and method which reveal the rules and supply the powerful theoretical direction for teachers' self-development.The fifth part: The study points out the complexity and the difficulties of teachers' self-development through analyzing the limited factors from the four levels: material, institution, knowledge and value.The sixth part: The advice are put forward from external environment and teachers themselves, which have the purpose to reinforce the advantages and decrease the disadvantages so as to get the perfection in its theory and offer virtual direction in practice.
