At present, the developing mode of high vocational education has been changed from the phase of enlarging scope to improving the quality and optimizing the structure. At such background, improving the quality is considered as the key work in high vocational education. The document of enhancing talents'cultivation in high vocational colleges by national Education Ministry on January 17th,2000 points out "constructing double-typed qualities teachers in high vocation colleges is the key to the quality of high vocational education." Therefore, the growth and development of the double-typed qualities teachers is not only important to the personal teacher, but also influences the quality and pace of high vocational education.Employing the documentary approach, the paper collates and stipulates the connotation and structures of knowledge, capacity and qualities of the double-typed qualities teachers. Basing on the theory of phases for teachers'professional development in China and abroad, the paper compares the theory and practice of their vocational college-teacher's growth and development in these countries whose vocational education has been highly developed, offers the four developing phases for the double-typed qualities teachers in China and their features. They are the phase of double-typed attainments, the phase of double-typed qualification, the phase of double-typed proficient qualities and the phase of experts. In the research,10 the double-typed qualities teachers from 7 vocational colleges has been interviewed, the paper gives a descriptions of these double-typed qualities teachers'growth and analysis towards the elements for the growth from the four phases:the phase of double-typed attainments, the phase of double-typed qualification, the phase of double-typed proficient qualities and the phase of experts. The paper further puts some incentive countermeasures and advices for their growth and development.The paper is constituted of three parts:the first part is Chapter One and Two which include focusing the research, documentary review, research questions, significance of researching, main concept, the research process and methods. The paper offers the four phases of double-typed qualities teachers'growth and their features.The second part, from Chapter three to Chapter Six, is the main body of the paper, presenting the deep-interview of 10 the double-typed qualities teachers from 7 vocational colleges. It verifies and revises the theory of four phases of double-typed qualities teachers'growth and their features.The third part, Chapter Seven, also the conclusion part of the paper, includes some advices and countermeasures of double-typed qualities teachers'growth from the point-of-view of government, vocational colleges, major construction and personal development.
