The Central Primary School of Bitang Township in Yongxing County in Hunan Province is one of thousands of rural primary schools in China, its development is an epitome of our Chinese educationdevelopment. "In the Preface-the Research about Research", thewriter mainly introduces the methods and process of the research-asequential research of more than one hundred years' development of the school by historical documents and field investigation.In the part "A Rural Primary School in Social Development", the writer shows more than one hundred years' history of the school to the readers by recollections of teachers and students who has ever worked or studied there. It makes us feel that our Chinese education has undergone historical transform, but history always goes forward slowly. After the People's Republic of China was founded, our education, especially rural education, has reached great achievements.Of course, we found many remarkable problems existed in our rural education from the development of the school. In the part"Introspection-my thought and Worry", the writer ponders over theseproblems.To face these problems, as educational researcher, how can we solve them? What kind of way is the suitable? In the last part "lookahead-my expectation and suggestion", the writer present herbeautiful tentative ideas on our rural primary schools in the future.
