The aim of this study is to apply the CHN standard to the evaluating work using computerized methods instead of the traditional ones. Therefore, .users can be equipped with a more convenient tool which leads to the high accuracy and efficiency for the work.Bone age is a widely-used method in valuing the youth's growth and development and its reliability and logicality have been identified and confirmed by hundreds of years of practice. At present, G-P and TW2 are the most popular valuing methods. Scholars in China had modified the standards of these two when analyzing the bone age in China, in the ninety's of last century, the state criterion(made by the national sports committee in 1992) came out when evaluating the youth in China especially the young ones of Han nationality. The criterion developed combining the standards of CHN and the Chinese maturity-evaluating standard, which has contributed to the scientific improvement of work of talent search in sports and youth development evaluating. Thus, the research of this area has been enhanced to a higher level. When using the CHN scoring method, developing grades of 14 bones need to be scored based on sex, and then we can get the sum of these results.Method: in this study, 'Assessment System Computer-aided by CHN Scoring Method' was developed using the visual basic language as the processing tool. This system was then applied to the evaluating work on the 37 middle school students of Beijing 173 Middle School. 518 bones were analyzed and the results were compared with the ones using the manual methods.By the aid of the Access and some other soft wares, this system can serve evaluating half-automatically. Its convenience and accuracy make the statistical work much easier than before. In addition, the interface of the system is so simple that even the ordinary user can master it quickly. Results: the accuracy and consistency of this system is significantly higher than that of the traditional method (p<0.01). And the mean duration consumed using the system for each bone is much less than that of the traditional one (2 minutes and 20 minutes respectively). Conclusion: the convenience, accuracy, and repeatancy of this system significantly preceded that of the traditional method. All of these advantages make it better for courseware and research tool.
