Exposition On Educational Ideas And Practice Of Li Shizeng

The paper mainly expounds Li Shizeng's educational ideas and practice. It includes five parts. The first part talks about the history condition of his idea; the second part analyses the content and essense;the third part enumerates his major educational pratice;the forth part makes clear the historical significance;the last part reveals the limitations. The paper also reveals the idea that, as the bourgeois democratic educator, Li Shizeng goes with the tide of the emergence and development of the new education in the early twentieth century. With the comprehension of the Western education, he not only puts forth his idea about part-work and part-study, college area system and equal importance of education and research, but also he carries on a set of educational practice. His educational idea and practice have a profound and long-term influence on the modernism of Chinese education. Despite the limitions, his beneficial pursuit and successful experience deserve our study.
