Interactive teaching approach indicates that teachers go beyond language structures and develop learners' communicative competence through interaction. This thesis explores the notion of interactive teaching approach, the operating principles and the strategies for interactive teaching in junior English classroom performance. This paper also analyzes the causes of failure in interactive teaching and raises some suggestions on implementing the interactive teaching approach in junior English classroom. In order to employ interactive teaching approach efficiently, teachers should reflect their teaching objectively and avoid the interaction-for-interaction's sake tendency.
