In the mathematics teaching practice , the teacher should regard the developing of the student learning ability ,the students intelligence and make the teaching more suit students psychological development as the important teaching contents .Theoretically, the research of metacognition will enrich and develop psychological learning theory. Practically, it will have very important significance in 'teaching students how to study'. In the mathematics teaching, the teacher not only develop the students ability of cognition, in the meanwhile, but also develop the students ability of metacognition.This paper will systematically introduce today's theoretical research achievements of metacognition. It will analyse the ability of metacognition and it's important influence on mathematics learning and then conclude the importance of developing the students' ability of metacognition. At present, there are many theoretical researches of developing ability of metacognition. For the practical teaching, this paper will state several creative strategies about developing the students' ability of metacognigion and will teach students several ways of learning strategies in mathematics teaching. This thesis will also explore the developing of the students ability of metacognition by using 'self-examination diary' in mathematics teaching Finally, it will use features of the metacognitive development of the students with learning disabilities and the teaching strategy to carry out the practical examples research.
