To emphasize developing an initiative attitude towards study is the most important subject that is referred to in the new course reformation. Only when students have interests in studying and knowledge, can they become the essential part of studies. The paper includes five parts. The author introduces the background and significance of studying in Part One. In Part Two the author does some survey and research about students' study consciousness, habit and ability on their own initiative, and uses statistics to reach a conclusion. The internal cause and external cause why students can't study on their own initiative are given and analyzed in the third part. While in Part Four some counter- measures about how to develop students" initiative ways in their studies effectively are discussed (mainly on reformation of middle school physics education).
